Benedicto College holds speaking, leadership seminar
CEBU, Philippines - Over 27 public and private high schools participated in the "Public Speaking and Leadership" seminar -workshop last October 12 at Benedicto College Artists' Hall.
To help students improve their speaking skills, overcome their public anxiety, develop leadership skills and be critical thinkers and problem solvers, the Toastmasters International provided the learning opportunity to top fifteen graduating high school students from Cordova and from the cities of Mandaue, Lapu-lapu and Cebu.
According to Mr. Ranz Andri Medina, Past Division C Governor, the Toastmaster's main thrust is building student's confidence in Public Speaking.
"To become good and effective public speaker, it requires more time and practice" Medina added.
Other speakers include Ms. Grace Paras, Immediate Philippines (D75) Governor and Ms. Charisse Piramide, the 2013 Toastmaster of the Year who also gave her sample speech. — ANALIZA S. DAYON, BA Communication, Benedicto College
