Realtorism: Tough But Rewarding

PEOPLE PLACES - Flor S. YNCLINO -

The passing of Real Estate Service Act (RESA) has moved almost everybody to hop into the bandwagon loaded with licensed Real Estate brokers.

The release and proclamation of the implementing rules and regulations seem to put everyone on a scare that one can no longer take the Real Estate board examination without earning units in school.

Thus, the perceived scare was evidenced by the number of people who joined the 38th Comprehensive Real Estate seminar (Batch 38) held last April 18, 19 and 25 at the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI) along Lopez Jaena Street. The hall was filled up to more than its normal capacity with 102 participants. There were a few who were turned down because there were no more seats available for them. To make sure they will pass the exam, they contracted the services of the seminar facilitator Realtor and Atty. Ariel Martinez to conduct a general review that took place on May 17 at the same venue.

Batch 38 is a cross section of professionals, some are in real estate field, and others simply want to augment their income by joining the field of the real estate profession. There are lawyers, engineers, a police officer and many more.

PAREB-CEREB is proud to announce that out of the 12 who occupied the top five slots nationwide, five of them come from Batch 38. They are: Domiciano R. Catubig Jr. – third place; Aldwin C. Fernandez – fourth place; Annchalie D. Agan – fifth place and Peter Bill Elizalde – fifth place. The other names who made it came out in The FREEMAN last month.

All those who passed the board were administered their oath by Ms. Zaide Bati-on of DTI last June 25 during the PAREB-CEREB’s 6th General Membership meeting at the Grand Convention Center. It was such a very successful affair with a crowd in attendance.

Congratulations to all those who passed the board, and thanks to the members who were there to assist and help boost the morale of the newly licensed Real Estate Brokers.

Meanwhile, the secretariat has been receiving calls inquiring about the next review, but as of this writing, nothing is final yet while the implementing rules and regulations are not yet released.

Meantime, we are reminding all those whose licenses are expiring this year to please register at the secretariat for the Continuing Education Program (CEP). If interested, please call 232-3940 and look for Emma.
