Cebu's 12 prettiest teens

Twelve budding young Cebuanas who not only possess beauty and charm but also exhibits eloquence, intelligence, varied talents and strong potential in becoming achievers in their chosen fields of endeavor were crowned "Cebu's 12 Prettiest Teens" recently.

Cebu has always been renowned for being home to some of the most stunning women in the country. Cebu's women are blessed not only with lovely faces but also with intelligence and strength in character. It is in this light that The Maze, Ayala Center Cebu's one-stop hip shop, draws inspiration from and undertakes the search for young Cebuana beauties who can showcase to the world that Cebu's best treasure is the magnificence of its women - in beauty, mind and spirit.

These 12 lovely faces serve as role models of the young Cebuanas today. They are in-tasked to become ambassadress of goodwill. As such, they shall be gracing youth-oriented social causes, community outreach programs and functions related to youth empowerment and self-reliance.

Prior to the coronation night, accomplished and well-represented judges representing different fields of endeavor, were invited to select from among 18 lovely finalists to whom the Cebu's 12 Prettiest Teens title shall be bestowed. The Cebu's 12 Prettiest Teens Search aims to promote the Cebuana not just as world class beauties but also as role models for the Filipino youth.

The Maze- Cebu's 12 Prettiest Teens:

1. Miss Eirane Kacey "Kacey" Cabardo Bonita (Talisay City) - 14-year-old Kacey stands 5'7" and an 8th grader at the Cebu International School. She is a recipient of High Honor With Excellent Effort Award from her school. She is a varsity in her school's soccer team. She is into painting and describes herself as "optimistic."

2. Miss Marianne "Yan" Tan Mader (Talisay City) - 18-year-old Yan stands 5'9", and a third year Management Accounting student at the University of San Carlos. She was once a host of Oi, a GMA 7 show, but quit the job to prioritize her study. Her father is a Swiss lawyer while her Mom is a chinese Filipina. She loves to sing and play PC games and describes herself as "fun."

3. Miss Janelle "Jaye" Holganza Borromeo (Cebu City) - 16-year-old Jaye stands 5'2", and a first year Nursing student at the Velez College. She was awarded Best Actress in a school play and is a member of the school choir and dance troupe. Jaye loves dancing, swimming and reading books. She describes herself as "simple."

4. Miss Maria Christine Dominique "Sissy" Manaytay Morden (Toledo City) - 15-year-old Sissy stands 5'4", and a third year high school student at the BRIGHT Academy. She has won several medals in badminton. She was awarded Outstanding Achievement in Ballet by the Ballet Center - Ayala. She loves dancing, shopping and modeling. She describes herself as "sassy." 5. Miss Sylgeene Therese "Gen" Ponce Tampus (Moalboal) - 18-year-old Gen stands 5'5" and a second year Nursing student at the

University of San Carlos. She is a consistent Dean's Lister and is a reigning Miss USC Technological Campus. She loves dancing, singing and reading books. This Libra describes herself as "sophisticated."

6. Miss Sharon Grace "Shy" Espinosa Angel (Lapu-Lapu City) - 15-year-old Shy stands 5'8" and a third year high school student at the University of San Jose Recoletos. At 15, Shy already holds several beauty titles such as Miss USJR Intramurals, Miss Milo 2005, Miss CESAFI 2005, Miss South Meet 2005 and 1st runner-up in Miss Visayas Regional Athletic Association. She also won a gold medal in CVIRAA volleyball competition. She loves dancing, modeling and window-shopping. She describes herself as "beautiful."

7. Miss Farrah Jane "Fajane" Piscos Aton (Bogo) - 18-year-old Fajane stands 5'4" and a second year B.A. Masscom student at the St. Theresa's College. She was crowned "Miss Bogo 2004". She loves to design clothes that she uses during competitions and other important occasions in her life. She describes herself as "approachable."

8. Miss Lejuene "Lej" Abong Ferrer (Cebu City) - 17-year-old Lej stands 5'5" and a third year Nursing student at the Cebu Doctor's University. She loves singing, dancing and reading books. Lej is into Arnis and describes herself as "shy." 9. Miss Nicole "Nix" Sugarol Hauser (Sogod) - 16-year-old Nix stands 5'8" and 10th grader at the Cebu International School. She has

performed in plays and started modeling career already. A varsity in her school's soccer and basketball team, Nicole loves dancing and diving. This half-German describes herself as "unique."

10. Miss Christine "Beauty" Luche Gonzales (Daanbantayan) - 15-year-old Beauty stands 5'7" and a high school student at the Saint Loui School - Don Bosco, Dumaguete City. Born to a Negrense father and Cebuana mother, Beauty loves dancing, reading books and watching TV. She won the title "Miss Teen Philippines Central Visayas 2006", and describes herself as "beautiful."

11. Miss Rachel "Chel" Lopoy Tan (Compostela) - 19-year-old Chel stands 5'4" and a 4th year Nursing student at the Cebu Doctor's University. She won Miss Intramurals in high school. She loves dancing and reading pocketbooks. She describes herself as "caring."

12. Miss Jane Allison Angbetic (Badian) - 17-year-old Jane stands 5'7" and a B.A. Psychology student at the Cebu Doctor's University. She made it to the top 6 in the 2006 Miss Teen Central Visayas Search and a graduate of the F.T.V. Modeling School. She loves wall climbing, swimming and singing. This Sagittarian describes herself as 'vibrant."
