Cherry Pie Picache earned praise for her bravery after forgiving the killer of her mother several years back.

While the actress is considered one of the best embodiments of courage and radical love, Picache said she looks up to Vice President Leni Robredo for her bravery despite being at the receiving end of persecution, profanity, and fake news for more than five years now.

For Picache, kindness is the highest form of bravery and she personally witnessed it in Robredo as she tirelessly serves Filipinos through her plans and programs.

“Kabutihan ang pinakamataas na uri ng katapangan. At hindi madali iyon ha. Pero biyaya iyon para maisabuhay mo ito. Lahat iyon, nakita ko at patuloy na ipinapakita sa ating lahat ni Leni Robredo,” she pointed out.

Fellow actress Nikki Valdez, for her part, talked about “women power” in her video message amid claims that Robredo is not strong enough to lead the country.

If her mother was alive, Picache said she’s sure they will choose only one presidential candidate in the 2022 elections. “Iyong pinakamatapang na ina at lider na kilala ko. Si Leni Robredo,” she ended.

As testament of Robredo’s good governance and transparency, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) has received the highest audit rating by the Commission on Audit (COA) for three straight years when it comes to the utilization of public funds.

Despite the OVP’s meager budget, Robredo has been able to deliver needed assistance to our countrymen during disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic, where she launched various initiatives such as Bayanihan E-Konsulta, Vaccine Express, free COVID-19 testing, free rides for frontliners, livelihood programs and relief operations for those heavily affected by the pandemic.

We heard that the franchise show “Family Feud” will take over the time slot vacated by “Wowowin.” Dingdong Dantes will be the host of the show that will start airing by middle or late March. Expect GMA Network to make a formal announcement about this soon.

For now, it is the show “Dapat Alam Mo” featuring Kim Atienza, Emil Sumangil and Patricia Tumulak that is airing in the slot previously occupied by “Wowowin.”

To be fair, “Dapat Alam Mo” is rating well, proof that the time slot previously assigned to Willie Revillame has a good following.

“Family Feud” is supposed to have its run-through today where Dingdong will report as host.

Meanwhile, the series “Dear Uge” bowed out of the boob tube after six years, but we heard that GMA is set to give Eugene Domingo a new program -- a game show that might also be a franchise.  Uge has proven herself as an effective game show host, winning awards in the process.

Even Julia Barretto was overwhelmed with “Bahay na Pula”, the Vivamax movie by Cannes best director awardee Brillante Mendoza.

Viewers are in for a big surprise as they will be seeing a different Julia in the horror film that also stars Xian Lim, Marco Gumabao and Erlinda Villalobos.

There were some scenes that Julia did for the first time like doing a love scene with a ghost. Julia said it was an honor to work with Mendoza and she considers it a milestone in her career.

“Ang maganda kay Direk, collaborative ang trabaho niya with his stars. Alam na namin na he works without a script and that is something new. Siyempre nakakakaba ‘yun kasi wala kaming script pero Direk Dante guides us naman kung ano ang dapat gawin sa eksena,” said Julia at the face to face press conference of “Bahay na Pula.”

Julia is likewise looking forward to working again with Mendoza because she learned a lot from him as an actress.

“Masarap katrabaho si Direk kasi he is very cool on set. Hindi ka matatakot na kausapin siya kasi he is very open to suggestions from his actors,” she said.

In “Bahay na Pula”, Julia showed that she is ready to tackle mature roles.

“I am growing up and I want to be more passionate with my craft,” said the Viva contract star who is starring in her first horror film and she is proud of her performance.

‘Bahay na Pula’ will stream Feb. 25 on Vivamax.
