CEBU, Philippines - Responding to the call for companies to help the country achieve inclusive growth, local company NutriBiz International Inc., expressed its plan to help increase the income of the farmers across the country through the company’s business expansion.

NutriBiz International Inc., the manufacturer of wellness food supplements, from juice, coffee, and concentrated Guyabano juice, is now starting to link with different fruit farmer producers across the Philippines, doing away with the middleman strategy.

In an interview with NutriBiz Cebu exclusive distributor Maria Aurora M. Zanoria, she said that while the company is still new in promoting natural health drink for Filipinos, the product is fast gaining patronage.

NutriBiz International Inc., is the maker of various FDA and Halal approved healthy products, its flagship product the Nutri21 juice drink combines 21 fruits mostly sourced from the Philippines, like malungay (moringa), pineapple, mango, guava, banana, buko, calamansi, tomato, carrots, mangosteen, dalandan, aloe vera, while it imports some fruits that are not grown in the country like Acai berry, apple, Goji.

Zanoria said that aside from the company’s long term plan to help more the farming communities around the Philippines to grow these fruits, NutriBiz is also offering the business opportunity to everyone, via the multi-level marketing (MLM), direct selling, and commission-based strategies.

Cebu, considered as the fertile market for health and wellness products and services, is expected to raise the company’s demand for these fruits, Zanoria said noting that her exclusive distributorship in Cebu has even seen growing orders from other areas in the country, as well as overseas.

The company carries three brands of healthy, and fruit-based products, the Nutri21 Juice, the NutriGlow Coffee and the NutriGlow Guyabano, of which these engredients are believed and proved to provide shield from any diseases  although it has maintained a “no therapeutic” claim.

According to Zanoria, despite the entry of more nature-based and healthy food supplements manufactured locally and abroad, she said the market is huge, while customer segment has expanded across age bracket.

“One can never go wrong in providing products which effectiveness cannot be manipulated, (by mere advertisements),” she said saying that the reason why she invested over a million in getting the exclusive distributorship in Cebu is because of her personal testimony after using the company’s products for a year.

Zanoria, who maintains surplus shop, beauty parlor, among other businesses in Cebu, said she is going to focus on this new venture, while the company’s vision is not only for the profit, but also to help people part take of the business through direct selling and MLM opportunities, and its noble priority to improve the farmers’ income generation.

At present, the company has helped small farmers in Luzon, funded Gubayano fruit farmers, while it is starting to offer similar opportunities in Cebu, starting with Bogo, and Medellin, as well as livelihood for women in Southern Leyte.

Earlier, Senator Benigno “Bam” Aquino made a call to Filipino businessmen to participate in promoting “inclusive growth” campaign by providing opportunities to Filipinos and engaged them in their respective businesses, aside from generating jobs.

Aquino emphasized the importance of social-enterprise model that should be adopted by Filipino firms, engaging the grassroots (farmers, fishermen, housewives) to start their own business or give them opportunities to be part of the supply chain.

Aquino, who is known as a social enterprise advocate, before he entered politics, urged businesses to follow the model of social enterprises, wherein commitment to engaging communities like farmers, fisher-folks is vital to poverty alleviation and realization of inclusive growth thrust.

Founded in November 2011 by a group of Filipino entrepreneurs, NutriBiz International Inc. provides a profitable business opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs by capitalizing the market trend of wellness and nutrition.  (FREEMAN)
