MANILA, Philippines — After expanding in video streaming and exploring the gaming industry, Pampanga-based tycoon Dennis Anthony Uy wants to infiltrate the growing market for cloud services in the Philippines.

Converge ICT Solutions Inc. yesterday disclosed that it signed a partnership with South Korea’s NAVER Cloud to assess the opportunities in the country’s cloud market.

The memorandum of understanding signed by Converge and NAVER Cloud seeks to discuss the possible areas where the companies can tie up for business.

Converge wants to maximize NAVER Cloud’s expertise to come up with enterprise products that would serve the digital needs of Filipinos. The company owned by Uy also aims to deploy NAVER Cloud’s services for digital transformation projects.

Specifically, Uy believes NAVER Cloud can support business requirements and smart cities. He said the Philippines is in need of cloud solutions, such as large language models that NAVER Cloud can provide.

“We look forward to working with NAVER Cloud to discover ways how we can empower more customers through cutting-edge technologies,” Uy said.
