Isuzu zooms to record sales in 10 months

MANILA, Philippines - Isuzu Philippines zoomed to a 10-month record sales this year on continued robust demand across all models.

The local unit of the Japanese vehicle manufacturer said sales surged 67 percent in the first 10 months of the year to 18,335 units from 11,007 units in the same period in 2014.

Isuzu Philippines attributed the sales growth primarily to its current flagship model, the Isuzu mu-X, which has sold 8,794 units in the January to October period.

Another strong contributor was its trucks and buses line, which recorded 385 units in sales during the period, the firm said.

The N-series light-duty trucks sold 3,234 units while D-Max pick-up truck sold 2,507 units in the first 10 months of 2015.

Isuzu Philippines president Hajime Koso expressed optimism the firm would continue to enjoy brisk sales heading toward yearend.

Last month, the company reported it has reached the 200,000-sales milestone since starting operations in 1996.

“After reaching the 200,000-sales milestone last month, we believe that Isuzu has been a reliable partner to Filipinos. With that kind of confidence, combine it with the bullish economy and the buying power garnered as the country nears the yuletide season, IPC is adamant that it will enjoy a steady increase in sales,” Koso said.

Koso said the firm remains commited to maintain the premium quality of their vehicles and their constant drive to provide the latest technology to their customers in the country.
