Antonio tops World Slasher

MANILA, Philippines — Rep. Patrick Antonio’s entry scored 8.5 points to emerge solo champion in the World Slasher Cup Invitational nine-cock derby at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Wednesday night.

Close to 300 local and foreign participants took part in the event hosted by the Pintakasi of Champions and sponsored by Excellence Poultry and Livestock Specialists and Pit Games Media Inc.

First timers Rey Canedo of Davao and Cris Sioson of Bataan with partner Pit Games CEO Manny Berbano (RC Warriors and Chris Purple) posted eight wins and one loss to share runner-up honors with Astig endorser Biboy Enriquez of Excellence (Firebird 2), Jess Moradas, Henry Teves, Arnold Mendoza, Frank Berin/Danny Bulldog and Thunderbird 6 entry.

Team Alcala of Quezon and Rico Abliter tallied 7.5 points while Ito Ynares,R. Abliter, Vergil Intino, Max Benedicto, Jojo Alcovendaz, Cholo Violago, Vice Marasigan and Biboy Enriquez (Firebird 1) posted seven wins each.

Meanwhile, the WSC 2 returns May 6-12 with the same nine-cock format.
