Creamline, Valdez eye long-term partnership
MANILA, Philippines — Alyssa Valdez is staying with the Creamline Cool Smashers for good.
After missing some of the team’s crucial games in the last Premier Volleyball League season, Creamline has made sure Valdez will stay and play with the team the whole of next season starting in the Reinforced Conference in March as the Cool Smashers seek their first PVL crown.
Valdez is currently playing for Attack Line in the Chinese Taipei League. Her contract expires on Dec. 31.
It was Valdez’ second international stint as an import after suiting up for 3BB Nakronont in the Thailand League early this year.
Valdez was also the very first Filipino to ever see action in the international scene as an import.
The former Ateneo star also anchored the national team’s campaign in the SEA Games, causing her to miss games for Creamline, which finished third in both the Reinforced and Open Conferences.
“Creamline is keen on winning a championship so after Alyssa’s contract expires on Dec. 31, they’ll make sure she will stay the whole year,” according to a source.
Valdez will rejoin a team composed of former Ateneo teammate Jia Morado, Pau Soriano, Coleen Bravo, Rosemarie Vargas and Cesca Racraquin.
