Derby champs known today

MANILA, Philippines — The Luzon Gamecock Breeders Association (LGBA) holds the seven-stag derby finals today with a huge 130-fight card slated at the Pasay City Cockpit.

Thirteen finalists pace the field with three wins each, including Biboy Enriquez (Firebird), Cyril Canares (Alekos), LGBA president Nick Crisostomo (Mang Nick RVM and Partners Nov. 30 SMCA), Aristotle Aguirre (Alexa Oct. 14 Sta. Monica), Jervy Maglunob/Noel Cosico (Triple J Farm 2), Pete and Mike Buendia (Buenas Dias);

Walter Lacuesta (QCA), Jay Gonzales (Batang Taal KBJ), Vice Mayor Anthony Marasigan (MOA Wanda), Jimmy Sangil (JTS), Philip Naguit (PSN Warriors), Kevin Dimayuga (Windjammer KD Rapido), Nestor Vendivil (Oliver Chopper 1) and Eric dela Rosa (Thor MD).

The LGBA stag circuit, sponsored by Sagupaan Complexor 3000, now with a total of 574 entries, culminates with the third and final leg on Sept. 29, Oct. 2 and 6.
