MANILA, Philippines - DC Pro skateboarders Cyril Jackson, Chase Webb and Alex Lawton spice up the activities in today’s DC Go Skateboarding Day, which gathers 1,000 skateboarders out to make a new Guinness World Record.

Jackson, Webb and Lawton thrill the crowd with their sickest tricks in a skate demo and free skate session as one of the highlights of what’s tipped to be the biggest skate event of the year.

“We’re excited to be part of it,” said Lawton during Monday’s presscon and meet-and-greet activity at DC store in SM Megamall.

To further make this year’s festivities memorable, DC sets out to break the Guinness standard for the largest skateboarding parade, which stands at 498 set in LA in 2011.  The Push Parade for the Guinness World Record begins at 1 p.m. Quirino Grandstand and ends at Circuit Makati.

After the parade, a skateboarding competition hosted by DC blasts off at the Mountain Dew Skate Park in Circuit Makati. Featured categories for the Core Competition includes the first-ever DC Invitational, Highest Ollie, Longest Gap, Best Grind and Skate Submit, which gives away an award to the skater with the best trick video.

The DC Pro skateboarders expressed happiness with the growth of skateboarding not only in the Philippines but worldwide.

“It’s just endless, it keeps getting bigger and bigger and it’s amazing. I’m really intrigued what’s gonna happen in the future because it’s growing and growing and especially now we’re becoming an Olympic sport (in 2020),” said the Aussie Lawton.

Fans patiently waited to meet the trio to arrive at the venue straight from the airport to have their posters signed and pose for photos.

Asked for advice to Pinoy skaters, third-time Phl visitor Jackson said: “Just skate and keep at it.”

For beginners, Webb said, “Be patient and have fun. Nothing comes easy but it’s all worth it.”
