Akari backs Falcons campaign in UAAP

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Akari, the country’s top lighting and technology brand, will renew its support to the Adamson University men’s basketball team in the UAAP Season 79.

With the guidance of new head coach Franz Pumaren, the Soaring Falcons loom as the dark horse in the eight-team UAAP field.

“We remain steadfast in backing up the AdU basketball team in their quest for a UAAP  championship,” said Russell Balbacal, Akari lighting and technology sports director. “Coach Franz is a multi-titled coach and a seasoned basketball player. We trust that he has prepared the AdU basketball team both physically and mentally.”

Akari and AdU’s confidence in Pumaren can be owed to his stellar credentials both in the collegiate and pro ranks.

This is the third year that Akari is supporting Adamson’s basketball and volleyball teams as part of the brand’s youth development and sports program.

Other than the UAAP, Akari also supports the university’s scholarship projects to reinforce the company’s commitment to education.
