Sen. Cayetano, tutulong sa FIVB Women’s Club Championships

MANILA, Philippines - Napili si Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano bilang honorary chairman ng Philippine Superliga (PSL) na mag-oorganisa ng FIVB World Women’s Club Championship na gaganapin sa Oct. 18-23.

Sa pakikipagpulong kina PSL chairman Philip Ella Juico at PSL president Ramon “Tats” Suzara noong Miyerkules, pormal na tinanggap ni Cayetano ang posisyon at nangako ng pagsuporta sa prestihiyosong torneong ito na katatampukan ng walong  pinakamahuhusay na club teams sa buong mundo.

Sinabi ni Cayetano na hihilingin niya kay incoming President Rodrigo Duterte na mag-issue ng executive order para magamit ang mga  government agencies tulad ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Department of Tourism, Department of Health, Philippine National Police, Metro Manila Development Authority at Bureau of Immigration para sa isang linggong volleyball festival.

Sinabi rin ni Caye-tano na hihilingin din niya kay President-elect Duterte na maging guest of honor para personal na i-welcome ang mga players, coaches at officials ng mga club teams mula sa Brazil, Thailand at Italy.

“This is such a prestigious event. The world will be watching as we open our doors to eight of the world’s best club teams,” sabi ni Cayetano, mahilig sa volleyball. “Rest assured that the government will throw its full support behind this exciting endeavor.”

Bukod kay Juico at Suzara, malugod ding tinanggap si Cayetano sa local organizing committee nina Amb. Alfredo Yao at ni Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. (LVPI) president Joey Romasanta.

Si Yao ang tatayong vice-chairman habang si Romasanta ay member ng executive committee.
