23 Gilas-Man pool inihayag na ni Reyes

MANILA, Philippines — Desidido si Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes na maagang simulan ang preparasyon para sa 2023 FIBA World Cup na idaraos sa Pilipinas.

Inilabas ni Reyes ang 23 miyembro ng Gilas pool na hahasain para sa World Cup.

Nangunguna sa listahan sina Thirdy Ravena, Isaac Go at Joseph Matthew Nieto ng reigning UAAP champion Ateneo de Manila University  at sina Javee Mocon at Robert Bolick na bahagi ng NCAA titlist San Beda College.

Kasama rin si 7-foot-2 Kai Zachary Sotto ng Ateneo High School gayundin sina Kobe Paras ng Cal State Northridge, reigning NCAA Most Valua­ble Player CJ Perez ng Lyceum of the Philippines at Remy Martin ng Arizona State University.

Pasok sa Magic 23 sina Juan Gomez De Liaño at Andres Paul Desiderio ng University of the Philippines; Rodolfo Alejandro III, Carl Vincent Tamayo at Joshua Sinclair ng National University, Kenneth Tuffin at Arvin Tolentino ng Far Eastern University; Jeo Ambohot ng Letran; Dwight Ramos ng California State University; Ariel Edu ng Llandovery College UK; Kenmark Carino ng San Beda; Will Gozum ng Mapua at Troy Rike ng Wake Forest University.

Tanging si Abu Tratter lamang ang nakuha sa De La Salle University kaya’t marami ang nagtanong kung bakit wala sina Ricci Rivero at Aljun Melecio.

Nilinaw naman ni Re­yes na hindi pa ito final dahil marami pa ang posibleng mangyari bago sumapit ang 2023.

May posibilidad na madagdagan pa ito habang papalapit ang natu­rang World Cup na lalahukan ng 32 pinakamalala­kas na bansa sa mundo.

Nauna nang iniutos ni Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas Chairman Emeritus Manny V. Pangilinan na magsimula ng maaga para masiguro na handang- handa ang Gilas Pilipinas na isasabak sa World Cup.
