Both became senate presidents. Drilon is now Senate minority leader while Angara is now the envoy to the European Union.

At the exclusive gathering held at the Turf Room of the Manila Polo Club in Makati City, Japanese Ambassador Kazuhide Ishikawa led the ceremonial toast and delivered a congratulatory message on behalf of Emperor Akihito of Japan.

Angara was honored for his valuable contributions in promoting friendly relations and developing economic cooperation between Japan and the Philippines. On the other hand, Drilon was recognized for his immeasurable role in nurturing and cementing diplomatic ties between the Philippines and Japan.

Congratulations, Senators Drilon and Angara, for this prestigious recognition!

One night in Havana

The Royal Oak Chronograph, an iconic brand of watches made by Audemars Piguet, recently celebrated its 20th anniversary in the Philippines. The Lucerne Group, in its desire to commemorate this milestone of one of the oldest fine watchmaking manufacturers in the world, launched the latest Royal Oak Chronograph collection.

The launch was led by Lucerne managing director Emerson Yao, Audemars Piguet board director Oliviero Bottinelli and general manager for Southeast Asia Antonio Seward. Long-time patrons of the brand enjoyed the vibrant Havana-themed party at Samba at Shangri-La at the Fort in Taguig City.

Guests enjoyed the free-flowing fresh mojitos, Cuban rum, tapas and ceviches. Setting the mood for the night’s theme were the straw fedora hats for men, beautifully painted Spanish fans for women and the Tabacalera cigar rolls. Of course, there was also  dancing to the pulsating Latin music.

The luxury company launched seven new models featuring a fresh, two-tone dial design with several upgraded details and a wide combination of finishes.

Congratulations to Audemars Piguet and the Lucerne Group for a successful celebration and launch!
