Show your best ‘selfeet’

THE PEPPER MILL - Pepper Teehankee - The Philippine Star

People all over the world go gaga over the selfie phenomenon. In line with this social media craze, Ipanema, a Brazilian flip-flop brand, recently launched “Ipanema Selfeet,” a fun challenge for the brand’s patrons to take their best “selfeets” and post them on Facebook for a chance to get exciting prizes.

The brand, known for having fun and adventurous vibe,  kicked off Ipanema Selfeet campaign at its newest store in SM North EDSA. ELRO Corp. managing director Patxi Elizalde and sales and marketing head Cecille Loretizo challenged guests to create their own adventures with Ipanema flip-flops.

The creative minds behind the brand also spread the message of capturing selfeets through the event “Ipanema Selfeet Sunday” in different malls like Robinsons Ermita, Ayala Center in Cebu and soon at Abreeza Mall in Davao City. At Ipanema Selfeet Sunday, everyone can enjoy various activities like flip-flop matching and on-the-spot selfeets. The event also features celebrity appearances and entertainment like capoeira performances. Guests at the Selfeet Sunday can take their selfeet, upload their photos on Facebook with the official hashtag #IpanemaSelfeet and present them to Bambu or Ipanema store to get discounts.

The fun continues online with the #IpanemaSelfeet contest on Facebook. One can simply upload one’s selfeet on one’s Facebook account with #IpanemaSelfeet hashtag until November. The best Ipanema selfeet takers will get freebies and a special accommodation at Punta Fuego in Batangas.
