Cloudy skies, rains on Independence Day
MANILA, Philippines - Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country will prevail during tomorrow’s celebration of Independence Day, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
“There will be chances of rainshowers and thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening, as the ridge of a high-pressure area will be the dominant weather system to affect the country,” the PAGASA bulletin read.
As the ridge of the high-pressure area will last until Thursday, generally fair weather conditions will prevail throughout the archipelago, with chances of isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening.
“By Friday, the ridge of the high-pressure area will recede east towards the Philippine Sea. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will prevail over Ilocos region, Batanes and Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands as the southwest monsoon will be the dominant weather system to affect these areas,” PAGASA noted.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
Today, the state weather bureau advised the public to expect cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Cavite and Occidental Mindoro.
“The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.”
