MANILA, Philippines — The net worth of Vice President Leni Robredo shrunk by more than P2 million after six months in office, based on her latest Statement of Assets, Liabilities and New Worth (SALN).

Robredo's SALN, which the Office of the Ombudsman released, showed that her net worth in December 2016 was at P8,878,11.43 while her net worth in June last year was P11,053,138.

The current net worth of the vice president is computed from her declared assets of P15,778,11.43 less her declared liabilities worth P6.9 million.

For her real properties, Robredo declared two residential lots and a house in Naga City acquired in 1994 and 2000, three agricultural lots in Naga City acquired in 1995 and 2000, an orchard in Pascol, Naga City purchased in 2000 and a memorial lot donated in 2012. These amount to a total of P1,735,000.

The vice president's cash on hand dropped from P11,115,138 in June to P8,940,111.43 in December last year.

Her other declared assets remain the same with furniture, appliance and other equipment worth P1.5 million, jewelry worth P100,000 and prepaid insurance amounting to P630,000.

Robredo also declared her Toyota Innova (P1,123,000), acquired in 2010, and her Toyota Grandia (P1,750,000) acquired in 2014.

The vice president's liabilities stem from loans payable to the estate of Marcelina Robredo (P1 million), estate of Jose Robredo (P2 million), Jose Robredo Jr. (P1.15 million), Jocelyn Austria (P2 million) and Salvacion Gerona (P750,000).

As vice president, Robredo receives a basic monthly pay of P148,478. The vice president holds Salary Grade 32 and is prohibited by the Constitution from receiving emoluments like allowances. — Patricia Lourdes Viray
