NBI to submit 750,000-page 'pork' documents to Ombudsman

Camille Diola - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Around 750,000 pages of evidence and documents are set to be delivered to the Office of the Ombudsman from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) as the bureau files Monday charges in connection with the alleged P10-billion pork barrel scam allegedly masterminded by businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles.

The names of senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr. and Jinggoy Estrada are among marked in several folders of evidence that were being prepared for transfer to the Ombudsman.

The documents were arranged in stacks of folders labeled with the senators' names as well as the questionable livelihood projects allegedly funded by their Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or the pork barrel.

Around 1 million pieces of bond papers were reportedly used in the photocopying of the documents, which were gathered for the pork barrel scam investigation.

The NBI will carry the piles of evidence in closely-guarded vehicles for filing of plunder complaints against the players in the pork barrel scam, including lawmakers and Napoles.
