UV spikers blast USPF in CESAFI volleyball
CEBU, Philippines — The University of the Visayas spikers overpowered the University of Southern Philippines Foundation, 3-1, to snare their second victory in the men’s division of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) volleyball event at the USPF gym yesterday.
UV got off to rousing start, sweeping the first two sets, 25-16, 25-22, behind John Kevin Juban.
However, the gritty USPF bounced back in the third set, 25-22.
Seemingly motivated by the bright chance of clinching victory, the Visayanians sustained their momentum to wrap up the match, 25-22.
In the women's division, Southwestern University- Phinma escaped University of San Carlos in a five-setter, 25-10, 20-25, 25-23,24-26,15-4.
