Zalora rolls out partnership with Ayala

MANILA, Philippines — The Zalora Group, Asia’s online fashion store, has unveiled the initial roll out of its retail partnership with  the Ayala Group through the launch of new initiatives such as pop-up Zalora stores in Ayala malls.

In a briefing last week, Zalora Philippines CEO Paolo Campos said Zalora and Ayala Malls are migrating offline and online retail to meet the growing demand for convenience and choices especially during this holiday season.

The two companies are combining offline footprint — in the case of Ayala Malls and Zalora’s e-commerce eco-system.

Among the initiatives are the Click-and-Connect, Click-and-Mortar Pop-Up Store, and the Ayala Malls Digital Christmas Guide on Zalora.

The Click-and-Connect will redirect Zalora’s parcel deliveries to Ayala shopping centers, allowing customers to collect at their own time and convenience. The pilot service, launched in Bonifacio High Street, has seen tremendous response from customers and has prompted extension to Glorietta and Trinoma before the end of the year to meet the holiday demand. Zalora and Ayala will open more stores in 2018.

Through the Click-and-Mortar Pop-Up Store, Zalora will put up more pop-up store locations by 2018.

“These enhanced pop-up stores will marry the click-and-mortar concept with experiential augmented reality, interactive booths and beacon technology for an enhanced and immersive shopping experience. Each store will also feature exclusive collections from top brands as well as introduce world-class brands that are not yet available elsewhere in the country,” Campos said.

For the digital Christmas guide, customers can enjoy easy holiday shopping with Ayala Malls and Zalora as they get to shop from the comfort of their own homes and have gifts delivered straight to their loved ones.

Early this year, Global Fashion Group, the parent company of Zalora partnered with the Ayala Group. Ayala acquired a 49 percent stake in Zalora.

Specifically, Ayala Corp. inked a deal with BF Jade E-Service Philippines, which owns Zalora Philippines, currently the country’s largest online fashion platform offering a wide range of fashion and lifestyle products.
