British chamber: 1,600 firms aided since 2014
MANILA, Philippines — The British Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines recently announced that it has assisted more than 1,600 companies from the United Kingdom since 2014.
The companies were aided through the chamber's Overseas Partner Delivery project, which started in April that year.
The project was responsible for contact referrals, market introductions, market researches and trade missions, among other programs for British companies.
Clients were mainly from the information technology, food and beverage, construction, pharmaceutical and medical, and business consultacy industries, the British chamber said in a statement on Tuesday.
The UK is the largest European investor in the Philippines, worth £1 billion (US $1.2 billion) in 2015.
The Philippines' trade relations with the UK have been consistent over the past years, with the European country exporting electrical machinery, pharmaceuticals, industrial machinery and equipment, road vehicles, other transport equipment, power generating machinery and equipment, and professional services.
In April, a trade delegation from London identified infrastructure and education in the Philippines as key development areas for the UK.
