MANILA, Philippines - Nissan Philippines Inc. is pursuing its aggressive nationwide dealership expansion in the second half of the year as it looks to sustain the robust sales growth it recorded in the first semester.

Nissan said it would continue to bring the brand closer to its customers by opening close to 10 additional dealerships across the Philippines featuring its new global retail visual design in the second half.

In the first semester, Nissan opened five brand new dealerships in key regions in the country. These are Nissan Marilao, Nissan Iloilo, Nissan Cebu South, Nissan Cebu Central and Nissan Baliwag.

With the addition of these dealers, Nissan established its presence across 32 locations nationwide.

Nissan’s aggressive dealer network expansion coupled with the introduction of an innovative after sales programs have allowed the company to enjoy a 41 percent sales growth in the first half.

The NV350 Urvan remained Nissan’s best-selling model, as the people carrier accounted for 31 percent of the brand’s total sales during the period.

Other models that have contributed to the company’s strong first half performance are the Nissan Navara, Nissan Almera, and the Nissan Juke.

Nissan Philippines president and managing director Ramesh Narasimhan said he is optimistic they could sustain their strong performance in the second semester.

“We have started out this year strong, growing our business by almost double versus the same period last year. And we are not stopping there,” Narasimhan said.

“In July, we posted a new record for the brand, hitting 2,202 units sold. We hope to continue on this momentum, to truly strengthen our position in the Philippine automotive scene. We have a lot of plans in store for our customers, this second half of 2017, so I hope that the market is ready for an exciting year,” he added.
