Special seminar on compliance to Anti-Money Laundering Law

MANILA, Philippines - The Center for Global Best Practices (a BSP-accredited training provider) is holding a special program titled “Best Practices Guide to Compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering Law and Its IRR” on Aug. 24, 2017 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City.

This lecture aims to update all covered institutions and persons in compliance with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas regulation for them to periodically attend a mandatory anti-money laundering seminar. Anti-money laundering law (AMLA) compliance also covers persons supervised and regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission including securities dealers, brokers, salesmen and investment houses.

This is also recommended to casino operators which will soon be covered by AMLA.

This lecture will provide guidance to participants to prevent being unwittingly exposed to exploitation by criminals, possible sanctions, fines and, in extreme cases, prosecution. Topics will include revised IRR on the anti-money laundering law, AML risk rating system, counter financing of terrorism (CFT), and global best practices that one should apply to mitigate business exposures to reputational, legal and regulatory risks.

This special program will feature AMLA expert, Atty. Richard David Funk II who capped his career as the Regulatory Affairs Group head of Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. Prior to this, he was the vice president, compliance officer and concurrent head of Legal and Recovery Office of PNB General Insurers Co. He was in government as deputy director and group head of BSP for Compliance and Investigation Group (CIG) from 2002 to 2015.  Another featured lecturer is Stephen Cutler, who was formerly the chief of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation office in the Philippines.
