FINEX inducts officers

THE FINANCIAL EXECUTIVES Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) recently held its 48th inaugural meeting and induction ceremonies at the Makati Shangri-La hotel. Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno was the inducting offi cer and keynote speaker.For this year’s event, FINEX adopted the theme, “Supporting Financial Inclusion for All Filipinos.” FINEX believes that it is in an excellent position to help our fellow Filipinos to be part of the financial system. Seen at the event were 2016 FINEX president George Chua, 2016 FINEX Foundation chairman and 2015 FINEX president Jaime Ysmael, 2015 FINEX Foundation chairman Edmundo Soriano, and FINEX director Grace Palma-Tiongco. Toward a competitive business sector

THE MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES under the leadership of president Perry Pe has recently launched its flagship program for 2016 titled Ease of Doing Business during its general membership meeting held at the Rizal Ballroom A of Makati Shangri-La, Manila in Makati City. Through the said program, MAP plans to look at how it can help improve the government’s business registration and accreditation process and address the other bureaucratic problems faced by prospective investors. Guest speaker for the event was Internal Revenue commissioner Kim Henares on the topic The Taxman Cometh: Can BIR and Business Live Happily Ever After? wherein she discussed BIR’s various projects that conform with the Ease of Doing Business program of MAP and how the two organizations can work together in helping improve the ease of doing business in the Philippines. Congratulations to the entire Management Association of the Philippines for staging this meaningful affair!
