MCPO tops “Oplan Tokhang”

CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City Police Office topped in "Oplan Tokhang" operations having the most number of drug surrenderers from July to Ocotober.

MCPO reported 37,104 houses visited during Oplan Tokhang resulting in the surrender of 2,035 drug users and 411 drug pushers.

City police director Senior Superintendent Roberto Alanas displayed the figures on the board outside the police headquarters for everybody to see.

"We are number one as far as Central Visayas is concerned sa ating kampanya against illegal drugs," Alanas said, as he urged the public to support and help the police's anti-drug campaign.

Alanas said they will continue their campaign against illegal drugs and all available resources to win the drug war.

He said MCPO has already started the Oplan Mobile Bandilyo.

It is another mode anti-drug campaign using public address system to ask drug pushers and users to stop their illegal activity.

Chief Inspector Mercy Villaro, city police information officer, said they have already visited several drug infested barangays since last week. Villaro said they will also ask the 27 barangays to help them out in the Oplan Bandilyo.

"We cannot do this alone, we need the participation of the barangays," Villaro said. (FREEMAN)
