Rody leads groundbreaking of Cebu-Cordova bridge
MANILA, Philippines - Metro Pacific Tollways Development Corp. (MPTDC), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC), joined local officials yesterday in the groundbreaking of the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX), its first venture outside Luzon.
President Duterte was guest of honor at the event.
“It not only symbolizes the future we are trying to get to, but also demonstrates the progress that we’ve already made to get to this day,“ Manuel Pangilinan, chairman of MPIC and MPTDC, said.
The P28-billion project is expected to generate 5,000 jobs during its construction.
CCLEX is an eight-kilometer toll bridge facility, the construction of which was pushed by the local governments of Cebu City and Cordova municipality.
The project will comprise a main bridge stay cable, an approach viaduct, on-and-off ramps, toll plaza and secondary bridges. – Mitchelle Palaubsanon/Freeman
