CEBU, Philippines – A father of 10 is now languishing in jail after his wife had him arrested for reportedly raping her several times.
Operatives of the Subangdaku Police Station arrested the 40-year-old suspect who is a jeepney barker and a resident of Sitio Maharlika in Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City last Sunday after the wife filed a complaint against him at the Women's Desk.
The 35-year-old wife alleged that she could no longer withstand the constant beating from his husband who would do it to her everytime she would refuse to have sexual intercourse with him.
The wife said the reason why she would refuse to have sex with his husband is because the latter would like to do it even in the presence of their children.
She added that she also refused to have sex with him because of being so tired from selling food and stuff in the street from dawn until the evening and that she still has to do some household chores everytime she arrives home.
The wife also said the beating happens most of the time because before the suspect would leave their house, he would still make love with her even if she refuses.
Tired, she finally reported her ordeal to the police last Sunday which led to the arrest of the husband inside their house that same day.
A case of violation of the Republic Act 8353 or marital sex case was already filed against the suspect before the City Prosecutor's Office last Monday afternoon.
