Revengers hand Spartans first loss in IBPcagefest
CEBU, Philippines — The Revengers handed the Spartans their first taste of defeat, 63-52, in the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Basketball League 2022 Second Conference over the weekend at the Capitol Parish Gym along Escario Street in Cebu City.
Dean Padoga and Dennis Zamora fired 17 points apiece for the Revengers, who forged a three-way tie atop the leaderboard with the Spartans and the Dissenters Bad Boys on identical 4-1 win-loss cards.
The Dissenters nailed their fourth victory via a 74-62 drubbing of the Aniceta Vipers behind the scintillating 33-point show of Edwin Estorgio.
On the other hand, the Pañeros and the Defenders both improved their records to 3-2.
The Pañeros flashed a total team effort in their 60-48 whacking of the Idols.
Gimbo “D Tank” Hernaez unloaded 18 points while Edison Solis and JN Ocmeja combined for 30 points to power the Defenders to a 71-58 beatdown of YLAC.
The Idols fell to 1-4 in a tie with the Vipers while YLAC stayed listless in five starts. — EBV
