4 teams remain standing in Mayor Labella hoopla
CEBU, Philippines — After five days of intense hardcourt battle, only four teams remain standing in the 1st Mayor Edgar Labella Christmas Inter-Commercial Basketball League at the Cebu City Sports Institute in Barangay Sawang Calero.
The Dondon Hontiveros-led Fighter 50 Wine emerged as the elimination round topnotcher with a 4-1 win-loss record.
The SG-ARQ Builders, Team JTR (Journey To Recovery) and ASPA Formworks also stayed in contention for the coveted title with similar 3-2 cards.
In the crossover semifinals that were still being played as of this writing last night, Fighter 50 slugged it out with the fourth-ranked ASPA while the ARQ Builders squared off against JTR.
The winners will fight for the championship at 8:30 p.m. today.
The champion will pocket P100,000 while the second to fourth placers will receive P70,000, P50,000 and P25,000, respectively. EBV
