CESAFI volleyball USJ-R boys stay perfect in semis

CEBU, Philippines — The University of San Jose-Recoletos spikers clinched their second straight win in the semifinal round of the 18th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) boys volleyball tournament yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Institute in Barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City.

The Baby Jaguars pounced the winless Southwestern University-Phinma, 27-25, 25-23, to stay perfect in the semis.

The University of Southern Philippines Foundation, for its part, outlasted the defending champion University of San Carlos, 25-18, 15-25, 25-17 to claimed its first semis victory.

In the women's action, USPF defeated CDU, 25-12, 25-10, 25-11, while USJ-R shocked defending champ SWU Lady Cobras, 25-11, 25-12, 25-17. (FREEMAN)
