Mururi, Arcuino dominate Summer Family footrace
CEBU, Philippines - Kenyan Joseph Mururi and Gemeda Arcuino led the winners' circle in the Summer Family Run at the Cebu Business Park yesterday.
Mururi topped the men’s 10-kilometer run in only 33 minutes and 13 seconds, way ahead of Prince Joey Lee who clocked in 34: 25. Joseph Emia placed third in 34:45.
The little-known Arcuino, for her part, stunned Lovely Andrin for the women’s 10K crown with a time of 44:06. Andrin landed at second in 45:35 clocking as Jona de la Torre wound up third in 47:34.
Mururi's compatriot Eric Chepsiror and Lovely's sister Cherry Andrin lorded it over the 5K action with a time of 15:22 and 19:59, respectively, while Ranilo Gabilan (11:03) and Mary Joy Loberanis (12:25) stamped their classes in the 3K. (FREEMAN)
