Binaoro, Montejo win in Freedom badminton
CEBU, Philippines - White Feathers Badminton Club’s Lerma Binaoro and Maggie Montejo emerged as the biggest winner in the Freedom Badminton Cup 2 the other night at the Cebu City Sports Center.
Binaoro and Montejo defeated Catbalogan City’s Chit Cadales and Hazel Mendoza, 21-19, 21-18, to claim the level G’s women’s doubles title.
Binaoro failed to score a double championship together with Jose Jason Villarbo in the mixed doubles after falling in the hands of Carmina Therese Dacalos and Abdon Hayag, 21-12, 21-19.
Leyte Sports Academy also ended its bid with two titles under the adult division with Melanie Sacro and Elloise Esperanza winning the level F women's doubles and Roy Vitualla and Abraham Lacerna dominating the men's side.
The Sacro-Esperanza tandem outsmarted Demi Mancao and Almary Ybanez of White Feathers Badminton Club, 21-10, 21-14 while Vitualla and Lacerna won over Cebu City's Jack Rojas and Gerard Cosicol, 17-21, 21-12, 22-20.
Trans-Asia's Tancredo Rustia and Rommel Maglasang nabbed the level G men’s double title, while the duo of Japhy Catana and Raymond Gringrea reigned supreme in the level E. (FREEMAN)
