Anti-crime operations yield P14 million drugs, 126 arrested

CEBU, Philippines — The series of operations against all types of criminality of the Police Regional Office-7 has resulted in the confiscation of illegal drugs worth P14 million and the arrest of 126 drug personalities.

According to PRO-7 director, Brigadier General Anthony Aberin, this success came from the guidance of Chief PNP Benjamin Acorda Jr. under his five focused agenda and the BIDA program of Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. together with the commitment of PRO-7 to maintain peace and order in the region.

Meanwhile, the PRO-7 also arrested 184 individuals involved in illegal gambling operations and seized around P22,000 in bet money.

Also, 13 most wanted persons and 106 other wanted persons were arrested in the execution of the pending warrant of arrests.

In the operation against loose firearms, the police recovered 174 unregistered firearms, 160 bullets and 12 individuals were arrested.

“Maximizing the utilization of our intelligence units, your PRO-7 will continue to adopt and elevate its operational strategies to lessen illegal drug activities in Central Visayas, aligned with the BIDA Program of the SILG and the 5-Focused Agenda of CPNP,” said Aberin. — (FREEMAN)
