The victim was identified as Gemson Luchavez, of Cansojong, Talisay City, while the driver of the cement mixer driver was Abundio Tampipi, 41, of Camp 7, Minglanilla, Cebu.

Based on the initial investigation of the Mambaling Police Station, the motorcycle crashed into the mixer after the motorcycle’s steering wheel caught the rear of the mixer.

The police station’s traffic patrol group responded to the area immediately upon receiving the alarm at 10:15 a.m. Minutes after the incident happened, responding policemen received a phone call from the wife of Luchavez. They had to tell her he was just killed in an accident.

She is set to return here from Camotes.

Tampipi said he noticed that the motorcycle of Luchavez was not driving straight.

Traya said they may file charges for reckless imprudence and damage to property with homicide against Tampipi who is under their custody.
