PB endorses P57.5M infrastructure projects

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Board has endorsed for implementation this year a total of P57.565 million for various infrastructure projects.

These structural projects include a technical training building, school edifices, garbage facilities, and park improvement.

Board Member Jude Thaddeus Durano-Sybico sponsored the resolution authorizing Governor Hilario Davide III to release financial assistance to the Municipality of Compostela in the amount of P10 million for the development and construction of a shoreline protection for the municipal seaport which is part of the town’s development plan to open a route for passenger vessels to Lapu-Lapu City.

The port will allow commuters from northern Cebu to avoid traffic congestion in Liloan, Consolacion, and Mandaue City.

PB Member Jerome Christian Librando also sponsored the resolution authorizing Davide to execute and sign, for and on behalf of the Province of Cebu, a Contract Agreement with Celedio Construction Builders & Supply for construction of materials recovery facilities (MRF) in all 16 provincial and district hospitals costing around of P1.6 million.

These MRFs will ensure a safe method of waste disposal in health facilities in Cebu.

The provincial hospitals are divided into two clusters. The first cluster includes Danao City, Bogo City and Balamban, Ricardo Maningo Memorial Hospital in Camotes, and district hospitals in Daanbantayan, Bantayan, and Tuburan.

Cluster II, with a total construction cost of P1.5 million, includes district hospitals in Minglanilla, Badian, Barili and Oslob towns.

The provincial hospital in Carcar City, Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital in Argao, Mariano J. Cuenco Memorial Hospital in Malabuyoc and Dr. Jose Ma. Borromeo Memorial Hospital in Pinamungajan, are also included in Cluster 2.

Librando also sponsored a separate resolution authorizing Davide to execute and sign, for and on behalf of the Province of Cebu, a Contract Agreement with Tuanson Construction for the concreting and improvement of the road pavement located between Ylaya-Katangkas-Pawa section in Dumanjug in the amount of P13.962 million while Guindaruhan Bridge in Minglanilla will undergo reconstruction with an approved P6 million budget.

Another resolution Librando has sponsored authorizing Davide to execute and sign, for and on behalf of the Province of Cebu, a Contract Agreement with GTM Builders & Supply for school building construction in Liloan, Danao City, Poro and San Francisco with an allocation of P6.173 million.

Each building has two classrooms that can accommodate at least 42 students.

PB Member Christopher Baricuatro sponsored another resolution authorizing Davide to extend financial assistance to the Municipality of Alegria in the amount of P2 million for the installation of railings at the Alegria Heritage Park. (FREEMAN)
