Capitol services caravan goes to Bantayan

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III is leading the two-day caravan of services in Bantayan Island today.

The first activity this morning is the launching of the Bantayan Anti-Illegal Fishing Outpost in Mambakayaw Dako islet, to be followed by the ceremonial opening of Gawad Kalinga (GK) waterworks in Barangay Ticad in the afternoon.

There will also be the graduation ceremony of Phase 1 of the Farmers Scientist Training Program in the Municipality of Sta. Fe. Davide will also tour and inspect the Go Negosyo Center in the said town.

On Tuesday, there will be a medical mission at the Bantayan Public Plaza and a veterinary mission in Barangay Kangkaibe.

Tuesday morning, a consultative assembly will be held in the Banatayan Municipal Gym where Davide will be joined by Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, fourth district Board Members Horacio Franco and Sun Shimura, Capitol department heads, municipal and barangay officials, and various sectors of women, senior citizens, youth, persons with disabilities, cooperative, fisherfolk, farmers, and businessmen.

Other events include the turnover of wheelchairs to PWDs and senior citizens; giving of sacks of rice for Bugasan sa Kababayen-an as well as distribution of El Niño rehab seaweeds cutting for guso growers and giving of indemnity checks.

There will also be La Niña preparedness campaigns to be held in schools.

A memorandum of agreement for the rehabilitation and resettlement of housing and water system will be signed, and there will be a distribution of certificates of entitlement for meat vans.

The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office will be conducting an information and education campaign, award deputation documents and oath taking, and also conduct livelihood training. 

Also scheduled is the ceremonial signing of deeds of donation for multicabs, motorcycles and phones by the Provincial General Services Office to be followed by a legal consultation. (FREEMAN)
