CEBU, Philippines - A Cebu City policeman was arrested after he was caught inside a motel with the wife of another policeman.
The policeman, a member of the Special Weapons and Tactics team of the Cebu City Police Office, was caught after the woman’s husband, a member of the tourist police of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO), sought police assistance after tailing his wife heading to a motel with the other cop.
The Freeman is withholding the names of the persons involved due to the sensitivity of the case.
PO1 Mar Villamonte, desk officer of the Centro Police Station of Mandaue City Police Office, said that the tourist cop called their station at around 8:50 p.m. to seek for assistance.
Villamonte said that prior to the incident, the husband was already suspicious that his wife was having an affair.
He said that since the tourist cop was off-duty Wednesday evening, he stayed at their house when the SWAT policeman arrived and fetched his wife.
The two reportedly boarded a motorcycle allegedly issued by the CCPO. The husband then tailed his wife and the SWAT member who headed to a motel at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.
It was at this point that the tourist cop called up the police station for assistance.
Operatives of the Centro Police Station and the SWAT team of MCPO then proceeded to the area.
However, since the motel management did not allow the police to open the motel room, the police, together with the tourist cop, had no choice but to wait for the two to leave the motel room.
At around 11:30 p.m., the two were seen leaving the motel and it was at this point that they were both arrested and brought to the Centro Police Station.
The wife and the SWAT member, who is also reportedly married, both denied having an affair.
Instead, the two said that they were business partners and they went inside the motel so they could split their profits from their business.
Villamonte said that the SWAT policeman is currently detained at the Basak Police Station while the wife is detained at the Subangdaku Police Station.
Villamonte added that the tourist cop is bent on filing cases against the two. (FREEMAN)
