Pag-IBIG to launch loyalty card program

CEBU, Philippines - The Home Mutual Development Fund or Pag-IBIG Fund is set to launch its “loyalty card” program in Cebu this month.

Under the program, holders of the card will avail of a 10 to 20 percent discount in medicine purchase, transport fares, tuition fee, fuel, among others.

Van R. Pepito, Member Services Officer IV of Pag-IBIG Fund-Cebu South Branch, said the “loyalty card” program is being implemented in three pilot areas: Cebu, Davao and Baguio City.

“We already implemented this in March pa but officially it will be launched in Cebu by May,” Pepito said.

Pepito said the new program will greatly help their members who wanted to save more.

Pepito said initially, at least 30 establishments in Cebu were accredited for the “loyalty card” members to avail of their services or products.

Pepito said that so far, “loyalty card” members can avail of discounts at the University of the Visayas, 2GO Shipping Lines, Pfizer, Petron and Trans-Asia.

“As we go along, we will be accrediting  more  establishments,” Pepito said.

Pepito said that existing Pag-IBIG members can apply at their office to avail of the card for a fee of P100.

The card, which can also be used as a transaction card for Pag-IBIG, has no expiry, Pepito added.

But entitlement of the card will be suspended if the holder fails to pay the membership savings. —/LPM (FREEMAN)
