CEBU, Philippines - Marco Polo Hotels in the Philippines has won prestigious awards during the 2016 Chief Business Managers Conference in their property in Changzhou, China earlier this year. The annual event followed the theme "Engage, Empower and Energize to Excel," and was attended by Marco Polo Hotels' GMs or Chief Business Managers from all 14 properties across China, Hong Kong and the Philippines.

The Philippine cluster, represented by their General Managers, was also proud to take home such awards in their respective hotels. Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, the newest property and led by its GM Frank Reichenbach, has won the Spirit of Marco Polo 2015 Best Guest Experience Award. Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, on the other hand, represented by its GM Julie Najar, has been awarded "Restaurant, Bars & Events (RB&E) Best Performance for 2015" and "Associate of the Year" for Director of Banquet Sales Ms. Tess Catipay.

Marco Polo Davao, successfully led by its General Manager Dottie V. Würgler-Cronin, also won the "2015 Hotel of the Year, Bold Leadership Award," which is the highest recognition given by the chain to a property.

Mr. Frank Reichenbach, of Marco Polo Ortigas Manila shares his thoughts on the significance of the award: "It was truly an honor to receive the prestigious award within the Marco Polo Hotels Group, and this won't be made possible if not for each and every one in my team… I would like to thank them sincerely, for being true professionals, for being inspirational. We are a great team, and I am very thankful to be part of it."

For her part, Ms. Julie Najar of Marco Polo Plaza Cebu says: "This award is another feather in our cap and I am glad to get this because I know that our Restaurants, Bars & Events team have been working very hard to consistently give our guests an excellent dining experience. Of course we shall not rest on our laurels and continue to innovate and come up with meaningful offers and events."

"Last year was a challenging yet fruitful year for our hotel," says Dottie V. Wurgler-Cronin of Marco Polo Davao. "Receiving this award truly means a lot to us, as we all exerted our best efforts to retain our position as the best hotel in Mindanao. This will truly inspire our team to continue to aspire for excellence this year."  (FREEMAN)
