Simple Blends, S.I.V trounce rivals
CEBU, Philippines — The Simple Blends and S.I.V pummeled their respective rivals in Hoop Nation’s Arlon Cup Season 1 at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
Jonas Panerio rained nine 3-pointers of his 31 points as Simple Blends blasted the Broncos, 96-57, to keep the solo leadership in the East Division with an 11-3 win-loss card.
Kelvin Cinco was held off to 13 points for the Broncos, who dropped to 5-8.
In the other games in East, the Trojan Warriors escaped past Tera, 72-69, while the 5 Joints subdued Clutch City, 65-56.
Bernard Bermudo produced a monster double-double of 30 points and 17 rebounds laced with two steals as the Trojan Warriors improved their record to 10-4 while Jherjacz Jaca sank seven triples of his 28 points for 5 Joints, which now holds a 5-6 mark.
On the other hand, S.I.V slammed Aiperon International Fighters, 65-46, to earn a share of lead in the West with DMY Events on identical 10-1 slates.
Jezreel Padilla showed the way for S.I.V with a solid double-double of 20 points and 19 rebounds spiked with four blocks.
Anthony Alquizar had 12 points, six rebounds and four steals but to no avail as Aiperon suffered its third loss in 10 games. — EBV
