CEBU, Philippines — The Philippine Retailers Association (PRA-Cebu) has partnered with software solutions provider, AutoCount to help Cebu retail players accelerate their “digital transformation” goal.

Led by PRA-Cebu president Christian T. Paro-an, the partnership was recently sealed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the event themed “Tax Efficiency Strategies for Retailers.”

According to Paro-an, the collaboration with AutoCount signals the industry’s active adaption to digitalization.

He emphasized the importance of empowering retail players, especially homegrown and thriving companies, to leverage the digital evolution.

The event, attended by over 100 retailers, featured insightful talks by experts from P&A Grant Thornton and AutoCount.

Discussions highlighted the significance of embracing digital transformation for retailers, delving into crucial updates in tax regulations such as the Bureau of Internal Revenues (BIR), and withholding tax requirements.

During the event, AutoCount’s software solutions took center stage as essential tools for enhancing business efficiency.

According to Paro-an, the collaboration between AutoCount and PRA-Cebu is geared towards simplifying the digital transformation journey for retailers, particularly those affiliated with the PRA-Cebu.

The MOU outlined key initiatives, such as;  Sharing Knowledge: - Active knowledge-sharing between AutoCount and PRA-Cebu to enlighten members on the benefits of leveraging business software for digital transformation;  Support and Resources: - AutoCount’s commitment to providing comprehensive support and resources for PRA-Cebu members, ensuring seamless implementation and utilization of their software for enhanced day-to-day operations;  Special Discounts for Members: - Members of PRA-Cebu will enjoy exclusive discounts on AutoCount’s software, aiming to make the digital transformation journey affordable and accessible for businesses of all sizes.

Moreover, this partnership, Paro-an added signifies a step towards bridging the technology gap within the retail industry. “By offering user-friendly software, facilitating knowledge-sharing, and providing financial benefits, the partnership strives to create an environment conducive to embracing digital change.”

In an era where business operations are growing increasingly complex, leveraging advanced software becomes imperative for growth and competitiveness, he added.

AutoCount’s commitment to supporting PRA-Cebu aligns with a broader trend of technology companies and industry groups uniting to facilitate businesses’ digital transition.

The AutoCount and PRA-Cebu partnership represents a collective dedication to advancing the digital transformation agenda in the retail sector.

“As Cebu’s retailers embark on this transformative journey, we can capitalize on special support, resources, and discounts to seamlessly usher their businesses into the digital era. This collaboration not only underscores the importance of embracing new technologies but also serves as an example for other regions and industries venturing toward digital progress,” Paro-an added. — (FREEMAN)
