The Freeman

The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) will hold its General Membership Meeting (GMM) and Annual Election on February 22, Friday, at 10:00 am at Casino Español De Cebu, Cebu City.

The activity will feature the President of the Tax Management Association of the Philippines, Atty. Eleanor L. Roque as speaker to share her 22 year-expertise in tax practice particularly on direct international taxation, appropriate investment vehicles, and tax efficient corporate structures for investments and acquisitions. Atty. Roque will talk about the TRABAHO Bill and Tax Amnesty.

In addition to the regular GMM, this time of the year also signifies the election season for the Chamber.  Just last month, CCCI thru its Commission on Elections (COMELEC), named the Official Candidates qualified to run for this year’s Annual Election of Board of Trustees.

Ten vacant seats are about to get filled as CCCI members gather to cast their votes on this Friday’s Annual Election of Board of Trustees. Among the 10, four (4) candidates are contending to represent three (3) seats in the Industry sector, five (5) candidates for the three (3) seats in the Trade sector, seven (7) candidates for three (3) seats in the Service sector while three (3) candidates vying for one (1) Sectoral/Association sector seat.

With this, all CCCI members are enjoined to actively participate to the coming GMM and Annual Election. CCCI members are further encouraged to cast their votes by submitting their filled out and signed ballots to the COMELEC Secretariat on or before February 22.

For more inquiries, one may call CCCI at 232-1421 to 24 and look for Ms. May Elizabeth S. Ybanez or Ms. Joy Lorena A. Segismar.
