SGA’s 3-peat bid tips off on ESPN on Disney+

MANILA, Philippines — Bill Russell. Wilt Chamberlain. Larry Bird.
That’s the full list of those who managed to win three consecutive NBA MVP awards. Nobody has pulled off that feat in 40 years – not Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder has a chance to get there this season.
And the chase is about to begin. The whole league will be watching. And so will the Philippines – from the best seats at home.
The NBA returns to ESPN on Disney+ for the 2026-27 season, and it’s built for Pinoy fans.
Available now through the new Disney+ app and included in existing subscriptions, ESPN on Disney+ gives followers a dedicated ESPN hub via the ESPN tab – live games, on-demand replays, studio shows, docs, and originals in one place. All of ESPN’s world-class production, commentary, and expert analysis, right alongside Disney+’s general entertainment and family lineup.
It’s launching with the new campaign Ito ang Homecourt Mo! – a nod to the Philippines as one of Asia Pacific’s most passionate basketball markets.
“The Philippines is an incredibly important sports market in Asia Pacific, with a deep-rooted passion for basketball and combat sports,” said Kylie Watson-Wheeler, Head of ESPN, Asia Pacific. “Bringing ESPN to Disney+ allows us to build on that passion, connecting Filipino fans with more of the sports, athletes and stories they love.”
