As commercial fleet demand grows: Michelin expands Phl distribution network
CEBU, Philippines — French tire manufacturer Michelin is expanding its distribution network in the Philippines to capture more demand from commercial fleets, appointing BSB Junrose Corp. as an importer-distributor it broadens its business beyond passenger vehicles.
Michelin has increased Philippine sales volume by more than 60 percent since 2023 and expanded its local importer-distributor network to seven from four, according to the company.
The expansion comes as logistics, distribution and other commercial operators place greater emphasis on vehicle uptime and operating efficiency, creating demand for tires and other components that can reduce disruptions to fleet operations.
For BSB Junrose, the appointment adds Michelin’s commercial tire range to a portfolio that already includes batteries, lubricants, grease, clutches, bearings and selected engine components.
The company said the move strengthens its position in the automotive aftermarket while allowing it to serve more of the maintenance requirements of commercial fleets.
“BSB Junrose is strengthening its role in commercial mobility by supporting fleet operators in selected critical areas that contribute to vehicle reliability, uptime and operational efficiency,” Ian Bangayan, president of BSB Junrose, said.
Commercial operators face costs beyond the immediate expense of vehicle repairs when trucks and other fleet vehicles are forced off the road. Delayed deliveries, disrupted routes and lost productive hours can affect customer commitments and operating performance.
That makes tire selection an operational decision as much as a maintenance expense, particularly for fleets operating under varying loads, road conditions and utilization rates.
BSB Junrose will initially distribute selected Michelin commercial tires for specific vehicle applications in the Philippine market, supported by product guidance for fleet customers.
The companies will promote the offering at Transport & Logistics Philippines 2026 as they seek to reach fleet operators and businesses reliant on commercial transportation.
The partnership gives Michelin a broader local distribution platform while allowing BSB Junrose to extend its aftermarket offering into a key component of fleet operations.
“Our role is to help customers keep their fleets moving,” Bangayan said. “For fleet operators, reliability and uptime are not abstract benefits. They are part of how the business delivers every day.” — (FREEMAN)
