COTABATO CITY — Partisans destroyed two sports utility vehicles belonging to members of a rival party on Monday, September 14, while polling precincts inside a nearby school campus were facilitating the Bangsamoro parliamentary elections.

The vehicles were parked along busy Sinsuat Avenue in Cotabato City, just outside the two-hectare campus of the Sero Elementary School and less than a hundred meters away from Cotabato City Police Precinct 2.

The incident triggered panic among passersby and voters inside the school campus.

Investigators from the Cotabato City Police Office and barangay officials are working together to identify the men who destroyed the two vehicles for possible prosecution.

The Commission on Elections had placed Cotabato City under its control due to the bloody election-related incidents in some areas of the city on Sunday night and, subsequently, on Monday, amid the September 14 first-ever regional parliamentary elections.
