Superbikes, scooter, underbone races up

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s ace riders return to Clark for the third leg of the of the 2015 Pirelli Superbikes Championship Series, 2015 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championship Series and 2015 FDR Underbone King Championship Series today at the Clark International Speedway.

Defending back-to-back Superbikes champion Dashi Watanabe of Kawasaki and Ducati franchise rider Raniel Resuello take their rivalry to a higher level as they rev up for a neck-to-neck duel for solo leadership in the 2015 Pirelli Superbikes Championship Series which is part of the 2015 Philippine Motorsports Championship Season sanctioned by the Superbikes Racing Association (SBRA) and sponsored by Pirelli, FDR and ENEOS with media partners Inside Racing Magazine, Motorsiklo Xklusibo @ DZME 1530, and Motorcycle World Magazine.

Young Aljon Valencia guns for a repeat of his feat in the 2015 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championship Series while John Emerson Inguito seeks to fortify his pursuit for a back-to-back plum in the FDR Underbone King Championship Series.

Both events are sanctioned by the Underbone and Scooters Racing Association (USRA) and sponsored by FDR, the official tires.

Following his early exit in the last leg at Batangas, Watanabe needs the win aboard his 2015 Kawasaki zx10r to keep his hopes for a thrd consecutive title alive.

Otherwise, this season will pave the way for the big comeback of Resuello, who’s aiming to regain the throne since winning back in 2012 and deliver his first championship belt to Ducati Philippines Racing Team. 

Joining them on the grid are Marvin Mangulabnan of BMW Racing and Anthony Roman of KTM Racing.

Favored in the other classes are Johnlery Enriquez in the Superbikes Novice division over Jevis Aguila and Masato Fernando; Jevis Aguila in the the Superbikes Intermediate class against Lawrence Macalinao, Ralph Kenneth Torres and Jericho Arnaiz; and Raymond Robertson for the Superbikes Master crown over Toti Alberto, Clarke Robertson, Jay Carrion and John Defensor.

Spectators will have their fill of adrenaline rush and heart-stopping racing encounters in the side events -- the Ducati Cup 2015, Shell Advance Moto IR, the MTRT Cup and the 2015 Pirelli Motorad Superbikes Cup – a junior league for promising future superbikes riders.

Valencia, who showed racing maturity and marked improvement this season, eyes another big triumph against John Emerson Inguito, James Mendez, Dustin Esguerra and Josh Reuben Tan in the premier 180cc PSR class in his quest for the Scooter Rider of the Year title in the 2015 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championship Series.

John Edward Godoy seeks another win over Jacob Navarro and Danes Sarmento to capture the 160cc PSR title while Maiko Adapon aims to bag the 130cc PSR crown over Amber Torres and John Oliver Esguerra.

Inguito guns for a crucial victory over former underbone king Masato Fernando, James Mendez, Ralph Kenneth Torres and Herbert Lopez in the 150cc Open class to claim his back-to-back underbone king plum in the series.

Maiko Adapon seeks to bring home the 115cc. novice crown against Lorenz Villanueva and Jacq Buncio.
