MANILA, Philippines - The Adamson University paddlers and the cadets of the Nippon Yushen Kaisha-Transnational Development Group Maritime Academy (NTMA) gear up for a battle royale against the veteran rowers from various dragon boat teams in the 2014 Manila Bay Summer Seasports Festival set this weekend at the Baywalk on Roxas Blvd.

Organized by the Manila Broadcasting Co. and the City of Manila, in cooperation with the Philippine Coast Guard, the event features the country’s top paddlers and student-rowers in a friendly but highly competitive duel.

Veteran rowers from Philippine Air Force, Crimson Dragons, Amateur Paddlers Philippines, Rogue Pilipinas, Philippine Blue Phoenix and 1925 Paddlers Club headline the roster in the event that puts emphasis on the values of unity and teamwork.

Others seeing action are the Philippine Coast Guard, Triton, Onslaught Racing Dragons, Rowers Club Philippines, One Piece Drakon Sangress, Manila Ocean Park, PNP Maritime Group Patriots, Philippine Army, Maharlika Dragon Boat Racers and Dragons Republic Paddlers Club.

But the Adamson and NTMA rowers, who underwent tremendous build-up for the event, have vowed to dish out their best against their experienced rivals.
