Nature’s trail run draws huge field

MANILA, Philippines - Over 7,000 runners gear up for the final leg of the Nature’s Trail Discovery Run trilogy set Jan. 12, 2014 at Daranak Falls and Batlag Falls in Tanay, Rizal.

Gerald Sabal heads the cast in the 50K Ultra while Juniery Villalon and Ems Nilisguin are fancied in the 10K event presented by LGU partners and its officers headed by Tanay Mayor Rafael Tanjuatco.

First leg winner Manolito Divina, meanwhile, leads the field in the men’s 21K with kickoff leg champion Alexandria Ahongon and second leg winner Donita Raye Padilla expected to dispute the ladies crown.

The final event will also include the recognition of top trail runners of the year, trail runner of the year and trailblazers.

Tanay has focused on its tourism program for its economic development with sports activities such as the NTDR II and other trail running race events organized by Pimco Sporting Events drawing local and foreign runners who discovered Tanay as the most favorable destination for weekend mountain sports and recreation.
