‘Bakbakan’ lines up blockbuster card

MANILA, Philippines - The Bakbakan 2013: Triple Championship Fights fires off Saturday with an explosive fight card lined up at the Mandaluyong gym.

A special presentation of LS Sports International, held in cooperation with Mandaluyong Mayor Benhur Abalos, the event will feature the country’s fast-rising boxers vying for Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) titles.

Jason Mitsuyama of Tatsunao Mitsuyama Stable of San Pablo City faces Rex Olisa of Art Monis Stable Valenzuela City in the main event, which stakes the PBF junior featherweight championship.

A golden belt donated by San Juan City Mayor JV Ejercito will also go to the winner.

In other bouts, Rene Bestodio of Pablo Garcia Stable of Mandaluyong City slugs it out with Rufino Mante of Art Monis Stable of Valenzuela for the PBF junior lightweight championship and the Mayor Abalos belt while Jimmy Aducal of Jay San Pedro Stable of Mandaluyong collides with Bryant Vicera of Aljo Jaro Stable of Binangonan, Rizal for the PBF junior bantamweight championship and the Rep. Neptali Gonzales golden belt.

All fights are set for 10 rounds.

A total of six supporting bouts will also be featured in the boxing presentation of Lope “Jun” Sarreal.
